Time Mysteries: Inheritance

Vivien Ambrose has just discovered how to travel through time! After an evil time traveler kidnaps her father, it's up to Vivien to follow them to the past. Using a mysterious crystal ball, visit the past, and meet Vivien's ancestors. Collect seven magical rings to power up the crystal ball in this Hidden Object game. Set off through history in Time Mysteries: Inheritance!

Go to different time periods and places. The mini-games were fun and while "spot the difference" is not my favorite mini-game, they were short and easy to get through. At other times, the dialog seems to move on by itself, but after a rather long time, tempting you to click to "get on with it already! There were also find-the-difference games and other mini-games. All games are bound to become dated but for now this one holds up well. It deteriorates briefly for a few scenes, and then picks back up again. Does not fill the whole screen. Interesting story line with cleverly hidden objects, this game puts many razzle dazzle games to shame today. I liked all the characters and the dialog was kind of humorous. It may not be everyone's cup of tea, so try before you buy. Keep in mind, however, you get only 4 Hints at a time. The characters are not animated like today's games.

They are pretty much stationary with the main character having 3 expressions at the most! It may not be everyone's cup of tea, so try before you buy. A minute of this and you get hints depending on your score. Once you were in a time period everything was original. Not to worry though because, if you do use up the 4 Hints you initially get, you can always replenish them! And it will be a rather quick round. Music, and Sound. To activate the time travel device, you go to this room and collect items. I have a respectable collection of Mediaeval and Renaissance music and much of the music in the game is familiar to me. Vivien will have to use all of her wits to solve challenging puzzles, uncover dark secrets, collect the magic rings and Time Mysteries: Inheritance her father. A minute of this and you get hints depending on your score. In fact, if you love Match-3 puzzles, you can use up your Hints fast, just to be able to play the Match-3 rounds! Especially, the hidden object sometimes hard to find. They could have used the subtitles as an additional help. That is not uncommon in many HO games, of course, but I think it was a rather big flaw in this particular game. In short, this is quite a fun game, with a very interesting storyline, good graphics, nice music, and a variety of rather simple HO scenes and Mystery P.I.: The Vegas Heist. But, each time the theme is Mysteeries: and I think the storyline keeps Musteries: Time Mysteries: Inheritance. I just got the sequel and wanted to refresh my memory on the storyline in case it carries over. You have to read. Once you were in a time period everything was original. You find Shining Plume in castles and homes and outdoors in various centuries, extending way back as far as 8th century. Not a lot of backtracking.

  1. I found myself using hints more freely just to play the Match 3 for a couple of minutes. Accept, to get a quick round of Match 3!!! It does stick to a basic formula with some repeat actions. Kept my interest and did not ramble.

But the grid is pretty simple, and the matches are easy to make.

  3. Easy to follow. A minute of this and you get hints depending on your score. I wasn't aware that there were two other games in the series, but now that I've played this one I'll definitely get the other two.
