The storyline turns out to be a bit intriguing although very similar to others, and of course there is the angry female spirit that we need to deal with Towb the story unfolds. You have my vote for one of the best games that Beholder have played in a long time. Ghost finder, jump map, and a kitten for a short time. Other Extras included in the Collector's Edition can be found in the checklist below. Despite that, credits go to the voice-overs which are usually on-point with nice lip-syncing. ERS's Ghosts of the Past, you have been hired to investigate a series of disappearances in the seemingly-abandoned Meadows Town. I only have one minor complaint, and that is the same as a few others have Mwadows on: Why would you have the game based in America when it's a Collectots known fact that there is Incredible Dracula IV: Game of Gods ancient Viking culture there? Well, the answer is quite a bit since there is the inevitable car crash and you must extricate yourself right off the bat. Although the beta of the game did indicate that there were achievements to be earned, those seem to be missing from the full release. Happy gaming! This game is in my opinion ERS at it's best, and this is the reason we love them as much as we do Halloween Night Mahjong Date published: For Ghosts of the Past: Bones of Meadows Town Collectors Edition that makes the game along with beautifully done scenes and lots of mini-games. Reminded me a bit of a wedding; something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Kirland from Wow Fantastic Game! The game can get a little easy at times, probably due to our Sheriff helper which is far too helpful. With the custom mode you can reduce the hint and skip to 5 seconds which I love. I get the feeling the game length will be in keeping with what gamers want. I only saw one HOS in the entire demo which was during 83 minutes of game play. Hidden object scenes are few and far between, but each of them is well-made and pretty smart. Read some of the reviews about how far-fetched the story for Vikings to have been in North America. Too, too much. As always the graphics and sounds are great, and in this game the characters finally have moving lips, while talking. Plus you collect runes that help you decipher scrolls -- not so helpful yet but only one gets translated in the demo. Date published: Rated 5 out of 5 by tekeguy from My Sleeper Game I had no intention of buying this game but selected it as an add-on to a collector's edition sale. I only have one minor complaint, and that is the same as a few others have commented on: Why would you have the game based in America when it's a well known fact that there is no ancient Viking culture there? Beautiful scenes that ERS is famous for. Ghost finder, jump map, and a kitten for a short time. ERS actually did their research and this is true fact.

I Totem Tribe been critical of some of their recent efforts but this a step in the right direction IMHO. A good storyline, you're the new sheriff of a haunted town, where an angry spirit kills innocent people, but are they really that innocent. I get the feeling the game length will be in keeping with what gamers want. I for one feel my intelligence being insulted to some degree when these things occur. So I truly hope they take the players' reviews to heart and keep this up. Hi all. I loved the extras with the ability to replay the mini-games and hidden object scenes. Very nice, realistic sound FX.

Why not just open the door himself as he does have the darn key. Hidden object scenes are few and far between, but each of them is well-made and pretty smart. Now Native American ghosts I can see! Date published: Rated 3 out of 5 by OldLady50 from Good for a dull weekend The storyline is muddled, what with the player being a sheriff, then the town is falling apart, then skeletons, ghosts and a Viking apparition why is it that all female apparitions have Barbie doll bodies and luxurious hair The puzzles are easy, but the Demo was far too short! I do hope these add to the story and the game continues. Nice sound track. A definite Pick up for me! IMHO, this developer always a presents games that are what I personally find to be the complete package and ultimately playable. Fun, not fantastic Date published: Rated 3 out of 5 by peanutlee33 from Not as catchy nor fun as expected I only got into the Police station, following the opener, and already unimpressed, alongside numerous game play issues. ERS's Ghosts of the Past, you have been hired to investigate a series of disappearances in the seemingly-abandoned Meadows Town. I loved the extras with the ability to replay the mini-games and hidden object scenes. The puzzles do have some originality and those in the demo were are very doable. One scene for instance, though, is where the Deputy gets abducted by the villain and is whisked away. Both were so simplistic it was ridiculous.

I played the demo for 81 minutes and truly had a great time! Date published: Rated 4 out of 5 by fallonr from Not Bad! Nice sound track. The story line is a variation of a very familiar theme. With the custom mode you can reduce the hint and skip to 5 seconds which I love. And the Hint button kept redirecting me to the outside fire, but, nothing to extinguish it with just yet : So far, horribly unimpressed. Interesting story. There was only one puzzle that I had to skip, and that was near the end of the bonus game. One HO scene was a match type, while the other scene was one where you replace items. My fears are allayed. It is a rather long game and I played off and on a few days. The first time was okay but after that I was bored. Had a Ruins Room which I forgot to visit while finding Ruins in strategic locations.

I feel it's time that ERS perform an update of sorts to remove some of the grainy and unsharp scenery. Date published: By the time I want to use either a skip or hint I want to do it right now, not wait for a minute or two. Happy gaming! Imagination with these Developers is just amazing. Rated 5 out of 5 by Kirland from Wow Fantastic Game! Graphics: 3. There were no morphing items. However, there are still a few twists and turns to be found along the way. The storyline turns out to be a bit intriguing although very similar to others, and of course there is the angry female spirit that we need to deal with as the story unfolds. With your trusty sidekick Deputy Jones you investigate and pretty soon you have 3 murders and a Viking shield maiden's spirit who steals their bodies and turns them into skeletons. Hi all. The voiceovers are very good and, yes, lip-sync is back - thank you ERS!

  1. In my opinion, this is an entertaining game but the Standard Edition appeals to me more, I just don't think the CE has enough substance to woo me, enjoy! I feel it's time that ERS perform an update of sorts to remove some of the grainy and unsharp scenery. You arrive in town to find the Sheriff missing and a teacher dead. Imagination with these Developers is just amazing. A few had me searching for a while.

  2. And the guy in the skeleton suit! So worth it! A game's superiority comes from how it captures its audience versus finding all the funky things that CE are famous for. They are not bad, they are just a little dull and somewhat grainy.

  3. A couple months ago I got a beta sneak peek of this ERS title in my email, and it just blew my mind! The comments from the detective sent to investigate are flippant I suppose the developers thought they were funny , and it ruined any atmosphere of spookiness. Although the beta of the game did indicate that there were achievements to be earned, those seem to be missing from the full release. Date published: Rated 5 out of 5 by tutortime from Great Game.

  4. And no pink and purple fairies, thank you! The storyline is a new take, which I liked a lot. So, I will be buying this weekend.

  5. Okay, first of all, what idiot would speed down a dark slippery road on a rainy night! Really good. I can't remember another Hidden Object game involving Vikings, so it is pretty neat to have a Viking love story as the theme of this game. My one and only criticism is the silly to me voices that say "Yes" every time you accomplish something.

  6. I can't wait for this weekend sale. Had a Ruins Room which I forgot to visit while finding Ruins in strategic locations. I do recommend the game as an SE and I am pleased that ERS has at once again lived up to its reputation as a very good game maker. I say bravo!

  7. Two Thumbs Up, I hope you as well enjoy! There aren't too many mini games either but they all seem fairly easy such as placing single fingerprints one at a time onto the matching originals. The poorly operating Hint button; the orb, which glows-but no energy to use it just yet- so that only defeated the purpose.

  8. It was challenging sometimes. The game wasn't all that challenging, but it kept me interested and moving. Why not just open the door himself as he does have the darn key.

  9. I was a little disappointed that there was nothing to collect except runes which at the end seem to give you a hint of some kind. The remainder of the CE content is standard fare with all of the expected content. Regardless of that, Ghost of the Past delivers as a solid detective game. For me it's a no buy, but you might like it.
