Uncharted Tides: Port Royal Collectors Edition

Mary Jane’s father has been missing for decades, so when one of his oldest friends contacts her about tracking her father down, she jumped at the opportunity. Before her father’s disappearance, he was looking for a magical ship called the Cursed Rose. Mary Jane’s search leads her straight into an incredible swashbuckling pirate adventure, as she sails with her new friend, Jack, across the Uncharted Tides!

I realize that these kinds of games are made for everyone. They are still brand new and shiny, they are learning on the fly but mark my words, these guys are going straight to the top of the HOPA pile. I only played the demo for about minutes, but both my daughter and I were impressed with this game in every aspect. Trap the octopus before it reaches the edges of a hexagonal board. I was intrigued by the storyline. Someone said the voiceovers were very bad. Date published: Neither the hidden object scenes nor the plethora of mini-games are particularly memorable or innovative. While the HOs weren't the most creative they were rather interactive. The best part for me was I didn't feel like the adventure was interrupted by one puzzle after another. Con: While the story line is good, the game gets confusing. I agree with pennmom, It's a change from the same old same old. I love the bullet stealing, people biting macaw Crazy George and I Zumas Revenge jealous that he looks better in a pirate's hat than Gallop for Gold do. I did not find them to be a problem. Although the mini-games are easily solved, I enjoyed most of them and found them to be relaxing and a nice change of pace. For a custom game, I still had to use the hint button. The mini games and HOPS were not real challenging, but I was more interested in the story line and loved the interaction between the characters. Well done It was refreshing to see the length of this game for a change. I'll get t' th' bottom o' this catastrophe, 'n when I find out wha' those scurvy dogs scallywags be up to, I be 'avn' 'em walk th' plank t' Davy Jones' Locker, so's they be feedn' th' fish! If you are on the fence about it due to all the poor reviews, just give the free trial a chance and it you don't like it, no big deal. Just enjoy the game for what it is. The game is enjoyable from beginning to end and even though it does not match the pirate adventure masterpiece also by Artifex Mundi that is Nightmares from the Deepit is still a worthy addition to the collection.   5. The graphics in many of the HO scenes seemed to be purposely blurred in an attempt to hide the objects. It was so much more intertaining than all the "done to death" storylines that are so prevenlent in most games. Uncharted Tides reminded me of an older, 3-game series about pirates that coincidentally was developed by AM, the producer of this game don't know if I can name-names? The best part for me was I didn't feel like the adventure was interrupted by one puzzle after another.

  6. I decided to check it out upon seeing it as editor's choice for today. I had so much fun playing this game. I enjoyed how Jack and Jane got separated and the story was told by one and then the other throughout the game. This was a nice change!

  7. And who doesn't love a good pirate adventure, Plus it is not a short game either. I found it to be enjoyable and humourous. Produced by the developer who gave us the amazingly innovative "My Brother Rabbit" this from Cordelia shows how conventions, tropes, of a genre in this case pirate stories can be made new and fresh by the way they are combined and woven together and this gives hope surely for all of us who have played it seemed too many games and felt more and more a terrible sameness.
