It's a HOPA game; difficult to find items at times but you have a magnifying glass to help you and a "dog" for a hint that refills fairly quickly. I could not recommend it to adventure gamers, especially hard-core ones, but for a straight hidden object game it is quite good. It adds to the challenge and made this game different than others of its kind. It compares poorly to similar games like Gardenscapes and Dream Inn and is simply not worth paying the same price to purchase it.

I find it to be a good, fun game. Each of those is also a HO. You need to find your aunt's journal pages so far, before buying it, I only found one but I will continue my search. Even in the zoom view the graphics are very sharp. The music is extremely generic. Another annoying feature was the automatic tutorial and the excessive dialog boxes which were very slow moving. She arrives at the estate and, while walking through all the rooms, she reminisces nostalgically about her time there. The magnifier helps you find them as does the dog hint. Then from the garden you visit several locations.

You also occasionally receive a tool which goes into your pack. Game play is very like earlier HO games in that it centers on a map of the estate and you select various locations on the map to visit. But presented that way, you can't forget where you are as I sometimes do when I leave a game and don't come back for days or weeks - the story to the point you are at is always there in the diary pages, and probably doesn't affect your choice of what to do next. Date published: When you keep staring and can't tell what the objects are, the 'ol eyes get tired and dry and then you just want to give up and go to bed. From that point on, we are in a game that is antique at best. You also discover a secret diary that your Aunt Selma has actually written to you. The story is told through pages of your late grandmother's diary, and I can't evaluate it yet, having only found one page. The story has you playing a young woman who has just inherited an old home which she visited once as a child. Uncover the secrets revealed in Aunt Selma's diary. I liked the storyline which I thought could be more interesting as the game moved along it but that was about it. You will come across items that have been damaged and you will find fragments throughout the game such as 16 pages of Aunt Selma's diary, or 14 table fragments. The magnifier helps you find them as does the dog hint. Personally, I'm not a fan of the click and drag style HO searches, and I'm pretty sure my mouse was beginning to overheat. I was not getting frustrated looking.
