Howlville: The Dark Past

Discover the secret of Rachel's past in Howlville: The Dark Past! Many years ago an artifact was found in a mine near the small town of Howlville. The government asked Dr. Joseph and a group of scientists to examine it. Something went wrong and the experiments were halted and classified. The town closed off. Since then nobody knows what happened to Dr. Joseph. Fifteen years later his daughter Rachel is on the verge of solving the mystery, but somebody is doing everything possible to keep her from succeeding. Help find Rachel's father and save the world from the looming catastrophe!

Your father went missing years ago, and for some reason now you've decided to look for him. I never needed a map because there was no need to revisit a scene. I liked that there wasn't a lot of hand holding, like most other games. It's quite a short game but logically planned, so you progress through it without any searching about The graphics are clear, and the sound track isn't obtrusive. By mid-way through I found myself thinking "Oh no, not another HO scene," but that's the way this game was put together. The hidden object scenes were challenging and fun. Took me hours which seemed like a good value for the money, didn't even get through the gate in the trial hour, but maybe I'm just slow. Shake the leaf X and the knot Y to move the second beetle and the plank Z to find the third one. The problem I have with this sort is it looks like someone created a fantastic game then someone else said we have to have a monster. Enjoy it!! I highly recommend it, and can't wait for more from this developer! Fill beaker 2 again using 1 and 3 and top off the vial. The HO's were not terribly easy to find hence long play.

Help button is good. Also, the hint points out the non-interactive objects first this I find very important, since I use the hint button a lot during the hidden object scenes, but would rather do the interactive ones myself. Very good and alot of fun. Some of the interactive items were out in left field, for example one place a box was wired shut and you used scissors to cut the wires. If you are out of hints, you can wait for the meter to refill. Only wished the game was a little bit longer. This game would be great for someone that enjoys mindless fun with little effort. The graphics looked great, especially in the hidden object scenes, which were nicely constructed. Really enjoyed playing. The scenes are well drawn, and that's always a plus. Collect the Vitamins. This game does not, and where to use some of the items is not always intuitive. I'd play it again as it didn't give me a breakdown! I would not recommend this game. You can also adjust your options sound, music, and screen size.

But as it stands, I won't be completing this one. Mini games are few and are just clicky, with no real reasoning involved. Not all things you need to find are in the games either. This felt like something they threw together to have a new release quickly. I feel like the idea just never reached its potential. Shake the leaf X and the knot Y to move the second beetle and the plank Z to find the third one. This was also extremely short, so don't expect this one to kill much time for you. Good graphics, somewhat interesting story, 3 options for challenge level, etc. The graphics were beautiful and clear. Excellent game and fun, never know what to expect! Place the other eye O in the skull to open it up and collect the Gun P. Starting with the left side, press a symbol and its match on the right side until only one symbol is left M. I don't mind the occasional stick-the-cheese-in-the-trap-to-catch-the-mouse or Howlville: The Dark Past interactions, but this game has you solving full puzzles in order to get a single useless item. I never have liked that one. Enjoy it!! And you have plenty of help along the way. The scenes are well drawn, and that's always a plus.

Date published: Rated 5 out of 5 by debo from Good Timepass liked it quite a lot. This game is different from the usual Hidden Object games in that during the mini-games there are other mini-games hidden inside them. I never have liked that one. For one thing, in most HOGs, when you get a gear symbol or something of that nature, it tells you what is needed when you click on it.

  3. Anyway, this is a hidden object adventure, very heavy on the hidden object scenes I like the adventuring , but most of them are very interactive and even have embedded puzzles in them which I like. It's just too much. Have fun with the puzzles that you rotate the pieces to make a whole picture of something. Arrange the arrows, shown in the screenshot, to get points Z.

Some inventory items were sometimes hard to find but the HOs were good and the puzzles were fairly easy.
