Lost Grimoires 2: Shard of Mystery

Artifex Mundi proudly presents the next installment of the Lost Grimoires series! When Prince Fern goes missing just days before his coronation, only one person in the king's court can find him. Step into the shoes of the teacher, spy and advisor of House Griff and embark on a dangerous adventure to find the heir and save him from the clutches of dark magic!

Pretty good game. Having already delved into the world of alchemy with Lost Grimoires: Stolen Kingdom, one must wonder if Lost Grimoires 2: Shard of Mystery is more of the same, just with a different narrative. So happy to see quality games being produced again. So thanks again Artifex Mundi for being willing to stand apart. The bad news is that those are the most boring chapters known to mankind. Like its predecessor, the Hidden Object games have received a freshening up, with them no longer being simply a list of items to find. I thought the graphics were fine. Or so they thought. Still and all I would definitely recommend it to others. At each location you collect rose symbols. Hope it's a good one! A four star rating is generous and Artifex Mundi deserves this rating. I love that you make a lot of potions throughout and the mini-game you play to get each potion was fun too. Note to all developers - try listening to real children sometimes.

Constantly trying to make potions and recipes is just too much. As I stated before, I really don't like concocting alchemy recipes, there's no skill involved, so it's just a useless task to make ridiculas potions example "Odor Sleuth" really? I don't even enjoy following the directions to make a recipe in a mini game, much less having to repeat one after another! Great bonus HO's to find that make you stop and appreciate the beautiful graphics of each new scene. Note to all developers - try listening to real children sometimes. A four star rating is generous and Artifex Mundi deserves this rating. I highly recommend. I'm not a fan of the hidden object scenes and this game uses them sparingly compared to some others in the genre. Asking for reviews every half hour is just stupid and bad practice. No glitches I have encountered. I thought the graphics were fine. Your role is as the personal medic to Prince Fern and so when he gets kidnapped as part of the devious plan on the eve of his coronation, you must do everything in your power to get him back. You could customize settings. Really enjoying this HOG.

Some were games of skill and dexterity, others were rotational, and others were artistic. In the first Grimoirss, one of the items was an Ace bandage all wrapped up and pinned tightly together with 2 metal clasps, you know, the kind they make presently, not hundreds of years ago! Grimoirrs was an excellent teleport map and loading was instantaneous between locations. Still and all I would definitely recommend it to others. So thanks again Artifex Mundi for being willing to stand apart. I don't even enjoy following the directions to make a recipe in a mini Sinbad: In search of Magic Ginger, much less having to repeat one after another! It was fun to use the Alchemy and develop potions to move the story along. My complaint again is the nagging pop up boxes to review the game. After muddling my way through the demo, I tried to play beyond the demo, and I gave it a valiant attempt, but I just couldn't do it. As I stated before, I really don't like concocting alchemy recipes, there's no skill involved, so it's just a useless task to make ridiculas potions example lf Sleuth" really? I really, really enjoyed this game! I will admit, that the HOP within an aviary was colorful and really well done, as you are tasked Girmoires finding the birds that match the Silhouetted Shapes shown, followed by finding 10 Feathers. If you are looking for a fun, beautiful looking game that's Rock Tour on Grimoiers easy and intuitive side this is the game for you!

Lost Grimoires 2: Shard of Mystery! Two minutes in and I quit. I loved the 1st game, this game not so much. In the first HOP, one of the items was an Ace bandage all wrapped up and pinned tightly together with 2 metal clasps, you know, the kind they make presently, not hundreds of years ago! The hidden objects and mini-games were good. This is a game of quantity, not quality, with 4 long chapters CE has a Bonus Chapter titled Behind The Mirror If you think you can muddle through, here's a recap of my review to help you decide which version, if either is right for you: Another game with an evil imprisoned witch trying to escape, another naive Prince all grown up and ruining everything, another Alchemist who whips up potions using recipes that are conveniently laying around, which btw, always seems to be THE exact potion at THE right time. For heavens sake, enough already. I really, really enjoyed this game! Hope it's a good one! It's not an overly long game, it took me maybe 4. My complaint again is the nagging pop up boxes to review the game. The Hidden Object Scenes are varied, and offer no alternative puzzle types. I thought it was a fun, interesting and beautiful game with a storyline that stays throughout the game.

I'm Iron Sea Defenders a fan of the hidden object scenes and this game uses them Magic Haven compared to some others in the genre. The story is not as compelling. The HO scenes had some variation but there wasn't anything unusual about them. Excellent back story, graphics and game design. Forest Mahjong coloring is luxurious and vibrant, giving real character to the many areas featured. Constantly trying to make potions and recipes is just too much. Lost Grimoires 2: Shard of Mystery is a magical adventure featuring beautiful hand drawn locations to traverse through and a smattering of clever puzzle ideas to keep the mind ticking over, without ever causing frustration. Hope it's a good one!

It was also a long SE game with a "strategy guide" which went to the walk-throughs if you needed help. Your role is as the personal medic to Prince Fern and so when he gets kidnapped as part of the devious plan on the eve of his coronation, you must do everything in your power to get him back. So happy to see quality games being produced again. The Mini Games aren't really bad, but they are too repetitive, and I became bored after the third or fourth repeat of the same puzzle. The Hidden Object Scenes are varied, and offer no alternative puzzle types. I loved the 1st game, this game not so much. Note to all developers - try listening to real children sometimes. The HO Scenes have just the right amount of difficulty. When the King at the time falls ill, she vows to return and through some wicked plot, manages to set the wheels in motion after tricking the young Prince, Fern. I wanted more. My complaint again is the nagging pop up boxes to review the game. I played the demo of the CE when it was released, and then played the demo of this Standard Edition version this morning, and I noticed something I hadn't noticed the first time.

  1. Let me finish the thing so I know what I'm rating. Rated 4 out of 5 by BooksandGameFan from Easy relaxing game with beautiful scenery and graphics! The artwork is not as nice, voiceovers sound discombobulated from the characters on the screen or just don't match appearance of characters. The match 3 part of this did get tiresome, but it was only one part of the game.

  2. Asking for reviews every half hour is just stupid and bad practice. For heavens sake, enough already. Really wish we would get more games from this game designer, they are always top notch in my opinion.

  3. The storyline, although not very original, still managed to hold my interest. The 6 re-playable Hidden Object Scenes don't even have a gold, silver, bronze trophy feature, or any type of timer to try to beat your best score, they are just plain ole HOP's, a one and done kind! Off to play the new Sea of Lies! No glitches I have encountered. As I stated before, I really don't like concocting alchemy recipes, there's no skill involved, so it's just a useless task to make ridiculas potions example "Odor Sleuth" really?

  5. For heavens sake, enough already. Extremely well thought out. The hidden objects and mini-games were good.

  6. When the King at the time falls ill, she vows to return and through some wicked plot, manages to set the wheels in motion after tricking the young Prince, Fern. A few years before the story of Lost Grimoires 2 begins, an evil witch named Drosera turned on her own people and kicked off a brutal war, which eventually saw her captured inside of a magical Chasm Mirror forevermore. The Mini Games aren't really bad, but they are too repetitive, and I became bored after the third or fourth repeat of the same puzzle. At each location you collect rose symbols.

  7. Your role is as the personal medic to Prince Fern and so when he gets kidnapped as part of the devious plan on the eve of his coronation, you must do everything in your power to get him back. I played it from start to finish without stopping except for dinner. From a visual standpoint, the magical world beyond the mirror and the kingdom in which Prince Fern resides are equally drawn to a high standard. Some were games of skill and dexterity, others were rotational, and others were artistic. So happy to see quality games being produced again.

  8. I am deducting a star for length, lack of a cohesive journal and lack of wallpapers. Unfortunately, the sequel does not live up to the excellence of the 1st game. I really, really enjoyed this game! It was on the easy relaxing side which was just perfect for the mood I was in this weekend.
