Amaranthine Voyage: The Orb of Purity Collectors Edition

From Eipix Entertainment, the studio that created Danse Macabre and Phantasmat, invites you to explore a new world in the next Amaranthine Voyage! Professor Samantha Bennett has made a huge breakthrough in her harmonium research, but is shocked when a man from another world falls through her new portal. The man calls himself Kraixx and appears to be ill, pleading with Prof. Bennett to save his world. Since you're the leading expert on harmonium, Prof. Bennett calls you in, hoping you can save this strange man's life and uncover the mysteries of the dark harmonium threatening to swallow Kraixx's world. Search this new world for clues, but beware the Watchers, a cold-hearted group whose goal is to arrest anyone with magical abilities, including Kraixx. You'll have to decide who to trust in this new world where anything is possible.

You can select from a choice of four modes of gameplay: Easy, Medium, Hard, and Custom. You'll zip through portals and meet lots of people who end up standing there helplessly while you do absolutely everything, and while the consequences of failure are presented as very great indeed, I can't say you ever feel like anything going on is really that important. The adventure portion of the game should be a no-brainer for all of those who are familiar with HOPAs from Eipix — it involves a lot of running back and forth as well as a handful of same-old tasks. Every time you use the Gauntlet you will play a small mini game of either matching the identical symbols or drag ropes across every star point. The HOPs include a variety of types with some requiring that we find so many of a certain item where others are the type where we find items based on silhouette. Fortunately, Kraixx has equipped you with a Gauntlet capable of collecting both dark and light Harmonium energy, breaking barriers and discharging it's energy as needed. Kraixx might look like you and I but he's definitely from another world, a world being consumed by the dark energy of Harmonium. Luckily, the art team is here to save this game rolling down the hill. One big source of irritation for me was using the gauntlet you acquire early on to bring in crystal power by playing the same two minigames over and over again. There is also my favorite list type included in the mix but no matter the type of scene many are quite interactive and that increases the fun. In this series:. I gave the visuals and sound a 4.

I'm not a mini game person and that just spoiled it for me. Depends upon how much you like Chocolate Shop Frenzy. This edition offers gorgeous graphics, excellent voice acting, and lengthy game play hours. I have another of this series and while it has been a Amaranthine Voyage: The Orb of Purity Collectors Edition since I've played it, Disharmony Blocks II do not recall having one mini game after the other and that is what this seems to have at least in the demo. If balance isn't restored in his world, our world will surely perish! One big source of irritation for me was using the gauntlet you acquire early on to bring in crystal power by playing the same two minigames over and over again. This is posted after playing the demo. The Collector's Edition also has several Achievements to earn, and many of the inventory items have plus signs indicating some type of interaction is necessary before Monument Builders: Eiffel Tower the item. Every time you use the Gauntlet you will play a small mini game of either matching the identical symbols or drag ropes across every star point. I bought the CE and don't regret it, but the SE would be fun, too. And things get less intelligible from there, unfortunately. The hidden object scenes are better, all of them are very interactive and they come in a nice variety of formats. If you want something bright and Rainblood: Town of Death but not too hard, you could do a lot worse than spending an afternoon on this game.

Kraixx has crossed through a portal to seek our help to save his world from doom caused by dark Harmonium energy that has gone awry. Fortunately, Kraixx has equipped you with a Gauntlet capable of collecting both dark and light Harmonium energy, breaking barriers and discharging it's energy as needed. Follow Kraixx back to his world and help him overturn the Watchers and restore the balance in this new game in the Amaranthine Voyage series - The Orb of Purity. All in all, the HOPs and puzzles are terrific and even though some of the puzzles might seem easy, there is a good mix of difficulty so there is something for everyone. The graphics, simply drawn and not very well I might add. Now you must protect Kraixx, travel to that world and finish work of your new friend, protecting that world from the wrath of dark harmonium! The adventure portion of the game should be a no-brainer for all of those who are familiar with HOPAs from Eipix — it involves a lot of running back and forth as well as a handful of same-old tasks. I assume the low ratings come from people who have tried a lot of Eipix's stuff, but don't be deceived by them: this game has bright, interesting scenery, a unique storyline for the most part even if it does dovetail into the usual 'rescuing people from a mysterious evil' style of tale , and a fusion of fantasy and sci fi elements. Bennett has made a major breakthrough with her otherworldly portal, and someone has just arrived on her doorstep! You can select from a choice of four modes of gameplay: Easy, Medium, Hard, and Custom. The Collector's Edition has the addition of 43 Hidden Collectible Owls or Freyy's Apprentice, there is no cursor change to help you out, but they seem to all be pink which seems a bit odd. I love these multi-faceted puzzles that require a bit more thought to solve. Unfortunately, the animations were not done as good this time around.

I found myself starting to dread it by the end. Now you must protect Kraixx, travel to that world and finish work of your new friend, protecting that world from the wrath of dark harmonium! Though I have not played much more than the demo, I write to recommend whether to by the CE or the SE because that's what I want to know when both are out. The Mini Games are fantastic! Amaranthine Voyage: The Orb of Purity (Credits) (Windows) Collectors Edition

I have another of this series and while it has been a while since I've played it, I do not recall having one mini game after the other and that is what this seems to have at least in the demo. Hidden object scenes are prevalent but nothing fancy, and each area features three to four screens where you collect everything you need quickly and then have to blow through about four puzzles in a row to move on. There are six chapters to the main game plus the bonus game. Follow Kraixx back to his world and help him overturn the Watchers and restore the balance in this new game in the Amaranthine Voyage series - The Orb of Purity. Most of the Hidden Object Puzzles are silhouetted shape finds, or multiple finds, but there's also an extremely interactive and progressive scene where you fidget with all kinds of gadgets, and another where you are tasked with finding symbols or glyphs written on the walls on 3 sections, which was somewhat challenging and a nice change of pace. Date published: Rated 4 out of 5 by skullfun from Amaranthine Voyage 5: Get the balance Right! Only for series completists. This is posted after playing the demo. I would almost buy the game just to see what it has for an ending, as though we couldn't guess. Of course with this being a game from my favorite game developer, I know that I am getting top quality in graphics and sound. There are other settings you can fiddle with and most importantly, at least IMHO, is that you can turn of the click penalty. I bought the CE and don't regret it, but the SE would be fun, too. Unfortunately this is not a buy for me, however if you like mini games you're going to love this one. Unfortunately, it appears that our visitor has brought an unwelcome dark energy with him so now Earth is in the same boat. I use to buy without even trying the demo. If I like the mini-games I am not as bored by these gimmicks but in some games they are rather a nuisance to complete when I need to get on with saving someone or something — lol. I love any game has a sci-fi theme and this one is right up my alley more so than the recent Amaranthine Voyage games. We also have an interactive transporter type map that is located on the right side of the user interface area. Date published: Rated 2 out of 5 by coffeyfan77 from A Less Than Fantastic Voyage I have to say I was majorly disappointed with this entry in the Amaranthine series. So give it a try. All of the locations in The Orb of Purity are worthy of being desktop wallpapers; we enjoyed the bright colors and the majestic look of many of the scenes.
