There was one booth giving like 3 ounce sangria samples with ice, but other than that, literally no wine, except a red wine booth giving thimble sized samples. I wouldn't recommend this unless you can be checked in by 6pm. The first thing I noticed was that this line was taking a bit longer than the others. A lot of people had discounted tickets - so what is the point of buying full price? So we are just waiting around, drinking all the beer. Deep fried dough with powdered sugar!! The location was ideal. There was one booth giving samples of vodka, but again, thimble sized. The problem is when you're walking and eating its a task to really enjoy the food, so my suggestion is pick a few that you know are good based on traffic and take your time.

Tonight 15 local restaurants were battling it out for the prestigious title of Sacramento Burger Battle ! The location was ideal. There were some desserts and other little things going. Then it's gone? I love the fact that the bread was toasted. I have been to similar things before, and their lineup was just a mess. We finally get our first burger, and because they are rushing like crazy, it's burnt on the outside and quite literally raw on the inside. This epic event is a "Burger Lovers Paradise! It was so good!! You should too! Can't wait for next year's event! The burgers were pretty good, I don't eat cheese so a few of the places I would request no cheese and end up waiting minutes for a burger. In fact, I can't think of a bad burger "sample" I had that night, and when I say sample, there were no tastes there smaller than my large hands.

The variety and showmanship was great. I fear and welcome this battle when it comes around next year. There was one booth giving samples of vodka, but again, thimble sized. Just a note, I would recommend getting there early as beer runs out pretty fast! Band, fun, friends. I have to say this was a hard burger to beat. Tonight was a night to remember! I noticed a lot of vendors weren't that busy and that led to cold charcoal sized brick burgers. Being our Second Year Attending we knew what to expect. Wine, Beer, Dessert, Live entertainment. There was no need to be here for even 3 hours, let alone 4! It's obnoxious.

Virtual Villagers: The Tree of Life Food! There were so many burgers to try I couldn't get to all of the booths. This event was all you can eat and drink! Pro: Cool twists on burgers A good amount of vendors Overall friendly service Introduced me to some restaurants I wasn't familiar with Cons: Batle meat was undercooked Most of the time, I had NO idea what I was eating labels or something of that nature would have helped. That said, I probably wouldn't return to Budger event for a few years. I rarely finished a burger because I wanted to try as much as possible.

I fear and welcome this battle when it comes around next year. No review for this really cool event? I think my money would have been better spend on a nice, air-conditioned restaurant that serves full glasses of wine. I don't recall their name but everything seemed to come together for this event, especially the weather. There was no fee and walking distance from the event. Since I didn't own a poncho, I had to hold an umbrella the entire time The closest parking we found was the garage at Mizner. Don't forget to support those restaurants who battled - it was kinda sad to see a couple of participants from last year are no longer in business. The only thing I would have liked was someplace to sit. That said, I probably wouldn't return to the event for a few years. However, everyone did make the best out of it and all the contenders were doing their best. A beautiful evening in terms of weather would have made this event just a little bit easier to enjoy.

  1. It might be my new addiction. I have to congratulate every competitor here tonight. This event was all you can eat and drink!

  2. Ridiculously hot and crowded. It was so good!! The burger sampling was actually pretty good.

  3. And, Oh! There were also tons of vendors with samplings of beer, cocktails, gelato, etc To start, it's very disorganized. There were a lot of bars around so we stopped at the Iceberg. I did appreciate the number of restaurants who offered a half- or quarter-burger, or would willingly cut the burger in half upon request.

  4. Needless to say it was as cold as Han Solo in carbinite because I imagine nobody wanted fugazi burgers. It is highly recommended to purchase the "VIP" tickets because you are allowed to enter an hour before the general public and also are given a free parking ticket for the parking structure right across the street! So we are just waiting around, drinking all the beer. To my knowledge I only saw 1 "alternative" burger and that was from 4th Gen market.
